Ken and Patricia Graham are back from a wonderful bike trip from Dusseldorf to Warsaw. Their grapes are bursting with new life, this year’s Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Rose are off to the bottlers and their Montipulciano is now in stock. And they are inviting you to the vineyard to taste their wines and view the latest art exhibition. Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November 9.30am – 4.30pm. Last week in my art world…

Last week I was invited to exhibit at Hitchen Road Winery open day in November, achieved an A for my Renaissance Patrons essay and selection for the Collector’s Collection at The Little Gallery of Fine Arts. And all a little related.. My work submitted for the Collector’s Collection was inspired by my study last semester of Joachim Patinir, a Northern Renaissance artist who is now known as ‘the father of landscape painting’. 35 artworks complete the show and Warwick Henderson selected 5 individual artworks included in the exhibition. Open day at Hitchen Road Winery…

Hitchen Road Winery in Pokeno sponsored the wine at our Two Days Only exhibition in Grey Lynn in May, and now they have invited me to display my work at their open day in November. More details to come as soon as they come to hand but it’s on the weekend 15th and 16th November. Hitchen Road Vineyard is a 5 acre vineyard on very favourable north facing slopes above the Pokeno Village, just south of the Bombay Hills. FRANCIS UPRITCHARD at Hammer Museum, Los Angeles Opening Saturday 25 October 2014 Born in New Plymouth, New Zealand and based in London, Francis Upritchard creates sculptural installations featuring archetypal figures—the psychic, the African, the nincompoop—hovering in a state of uncertainty. Modeled in polymer clay, the curious figures are rendered in a slightly unnerving scale, not quite human but large enough to look you in the eye with their only partially opened eyes and blank stares.
