The UK’s Threadneedle Prize

Work by artists shortlisted for the £25,000 Threadneedle Prize will go on display at Mall Galleries, in London, next week. This competition is a showcase for the best in contemporary painting and sculpture, open to all artists – established and emerging talent – aged 18 and over, living or working in the UK. Approximately 60 works, selected from a national open submission, will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London in September 2009. Two major prizes are available: The Threadneedle Prize (£25,000) and a new Emerging Artist Prize (£5,000). Studio Time

I’ve been awhile, waiting for studio floors to be sanded and then polyurethaned. In for the first time this morning and unpacked what I have there now. And now to starting work – I have to plan and work towards the exhibition in March with Amy.  So unusual for me to be able to pin on walls, store, unpack materials – all without packing back up again, and then start all over again the next day. Exhibition at Governor’s Gallery

The dates have been set for an upcoming exhibition in the Governor’s Gallery, Old Government House, Auckland University. 1st April is opening night and then it runs from 2nd April till 11th March. I have seven paintings ready to go and my alotted space will fit those 7 comfortably. The two fellow artists are Gayle Macduff and Angela Grant. Our worked is linked by colour, and the exhibition will be called Prism. It promises to be a kaleidoscope of colour!
