Jake and Dinos Chapman’s new show Come and See

My friend in London visited the Serpentine Gallery and saw ‘Fucking Hell’ by Jake and Dinos Chapman. ‘It was amazing…  so minute in detail and just tons of it and pretty crazy…’ ‘Hell’ (1999), an immense tabletop tableau, peopled with over 30,000 remodelled, 2-inch-high figures, many in Nazi uniform and performing egregious acts of cruelty. The work combined historical, religious and mythic narratives to present an apocalyptic snapshot of the twentieth-century. Nova Paul on show at Whitechapel Gallery in London

Amy MacKinnon introduced the class to Nova Paul in our year long course at ArtStation. Nova Paul’s film ‘Pink and White Terraces’ is currently on show at Whitechapel Gallery in London. This exhibition is part of Art in the Auditorium, a collaborative project organised by the Whitechapel Gallery to provide a showcase for the work of some of the most exciting young artists working with film, video and animation today. The UK’s Threadneedle Prize

Work by artists shortlisted for the £25,000 Threadneedle Prize will go on display at Mall Galleries, in London, next week. This competition is a showcase for the best in contemporary painting and sculpture, open to all artists – established and emerging talent – aged 18 and over, living or working in the UK. Approximately 60 works, selected from a national open submission, will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London in September 2009.
