A flood of realism…

A visit to the BP Portrait Awards in the beautiful National Portrait Gallery. “The BP Portrait Award is the most prestigious portrait painting competition in the world and represents the very best in contemporary portrait painting.” These are my favourites… My absolute favourite was ‘Tim and the dog’ by Jack Freeman, but all were fantastic to see and wonder at. Almost all were realistic, and some hyper. You can see all the exhibitors here. In London Town – St James’s

I arrived yesterday after a long flight through Dubai – dirty, smelly and tired. Napped for 3 hours and then up and showered, and down to one of the local pubs called The Cat’s Back to meet my nieces and nephews – tube not running so short of one and one late; and another sick so short of another two. But all good still and a little weird to see them in an English pub drinking Bulmers and eating fish and chips with mushy peas.
