A weekend up north in Yorkshire staying in Wakefield, home of the Hepworth Wakefield and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Home to Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore. The first day is the Sculpture Park – 500 acres of rolling rural north. Entry is free and the park is well used and walked. Even a wedding. Plus dogs galore. So much to see that we missed the Caro exhibition in one of the galleries!

James Turrell – Deer Shelter Skyspace – this was the best surprise of the day. Consists of a large square chamber with an aperture cut into the roof. Through this aperture the visitor is offered a heightened vision of the sky, seemingly transformed into a trompe l’oeil painting.
